Strangers at the Station - scene 3

(Night becomes day. Sleeper compartment of a moving train.)

Jake - Good morning. William the Wow! Been so long since I held someone all night.
William - How long?
J - Two years. In Wyoming. A hundred miles from Cheyenne. We had a ranch together. I brought back lingerie. And a message without words from the merchant to my husband. He knew the color of his eyes. I brought back more than sex role-play. Merchant got ill but recovered. Prolly was shedding sickness. My chosen family passed away that winter.

(Heart-felt kisses & hugs )

W - What's in St. Louis?
J - My mom. She said it was okay to bring home a guy.

(They both laugh then get quiet.)

J - William. Can I ask you a personal question?
W - Yes. Make Love to me please. I already said Yes. Take me as your wife.
J - Wait. Slow down. We got time. I know you didn't get off last night.
W - But you gave me a lot of sexual pleasure.
J - I'm gonna get you off. I'm gonna pretend I'm your husband & you're my wife. And this is the first dawn of our marriage.

(Kisses & affection.)

W - Wait. What's the question?
J - Ah. Oh. What are you hiding? I mean. What do you want for breakfast?

(Silence + eye contact. Noise of the moving train.)

J - I'm hiding stuff all the time. But nothing from you. I'm so turned on. Lying next to you all night. Naked. Vulnerable. Vibrating bed on our honeymoon night.
W - Jake. This getting a little creepy. Don't you think?
J - Yeah. I think so.

(Jake & William make love again. Jake lowers himself out of camera view. William didn't orgasm last night. He does so now. When finished, they caress & cuddle. More pillow talk.)

J - Whew! William the Wow!
W - Jake. Yes. Hey. Wow! My body won't stop shaking. Whew! Jacob!

W - I'm hiding so much shit, I don't know where to start. But I'm NOT hiding a damn thing from you. Your question is too broad. As your pretend wife, I'm truly naked to you in every way. If you accidentally tell my secrets, like this one. Hooking up with a stranger at the station. Thank you. I don't need secrets. I need love. Physical Love! Come what may!

J - And you called me a poet. I was looking for a family. You were looking for Love. We found each other.
W - We're not strangers anymore.
J - Don't forget to stay close with me in Memphis. We change trains to St. Louis. I don't want to lose you.
W - I think I found Love.
J - Yeah. Me too.
W - I gotta be in San Fran by Christmas.
J - And I vow to make sure you get there. With a suitcase of new memories like treasure.
