Pride means Nothing to Hide

Pride. What is it?
The mother of all secrets 
You want everybody to know 
Shame when it's wrong
Fear when it's right
It's plain common sense
To seek the safety of isolation 
From afar it looks like sin

Pride can be a lonely ride 
In your heart & soul 
You want the world to know 
Who you love the most
Exuberant you sing out loud 
Behind a wall of worry
If they find out about us
They won't say anything to your face

That's correct. I'll be ostracized
Treated like an ostrich 
Ghosted to my face
Crying behind a mask
No turning back. Nobody's business 
I want everybody to know 
What makes me so happy 
I'm so proud of my gay love.
