Soldier's Proposal

The bog is foggy. War is scary
The times uncertain. Future undetermined
My friends have been dying
My enemies are lying
Some call it Gaslighting
It's what I'm fighting
The forces that tear us apart

Shame & guilt top the list
Fear just gave me a kiss
I doubted what you said
Lost somewhere in my head
Paranoid they're out to get me
Disappointed they don't care about me
Like I'm on a freight train to Destiny
That so easily breaks down my heart

So you have come to me
To have a talk seriously
I'm a soldier. I follow orders
War is death & disorder
I don't want to lose you
You don't desire to lose me
So let's do what's right
Let's get married now tonight

Say you do & I will forever
Fight the forces that keep us apart.
