Pavement was hot
The pavement was hot when I hit the road
Good riddance. So I was told
I slept in my car until a knock on window
There you are. How'd you find me?
Come on back home. I was wrong
I need you more than I thought
One night apart. I'm distraught
My brother who's a cop told me
Yeah I guess I'm not invisible
I look strong but inside I'm vulnerable
You can't talk to me like that
Are you here to tear me down some more?
Come back home. My bad
I must learn to adapt
Without changing who you are
I promise to build you up into a star
The pavement was still hot
When you found me in my car sleeping
I gave your proposition but one thought
For now oh what a good feeling
Let's go home & try again.
