Your feelings are important to me

Me - I had a good time last week's river romance canoe trip. Did you?
You - Yes. Except for getting yelled at.
Me - What? Wait a minute. Okay you're right. I yelled at you when you steered the canoe into a rock. Then tried to paddle out instead of pushing off from the rock.
You - You yelled at me when we first got to the beach. Pull the canoe up further. First time I ever been on a canoe. But it was hot. You almost died of heat stroke on the row & walk back to the car. I iced you down.
Me - That was a life-threatening hot flash. But wait a minute. You spent a week doubting my love for you. And I thought everything was cool.
You - Come on. Really. It's no big deal.
Me - Yes it is a big deal. Your first 2 memories are negative. Getting yelled at & boyfriend almost died. Why didn't you say something like, Stop yelling at me?
You - I did. You were being dismissive. I did have a good time. I let it go. Now you should.
Me - Except for secret resentment building up. One day you'll break up with me again. And I won't see it coming. You'll brood over it. I won't be able to change my ways because I don't know your true feelings.
You - Hey. Kiss me. Don't worry about it. You're making a big deal out of nothing.
Me - I don't think so. Your feelings are important to me, whether you're near or far. I'm glad I asked. I resolve to be more sensitive & serious for you.
You - I'm back for more, ain't I?
Me - I want to make it up to you. For our 19th anniversary, I want to take you somewhere gay. I wish you could come to Rehoboth with me next week. You afraid I might get laid?
You - Yes. But you'll tell me about it.
Me - I will call you from the beach.
You - Okay. Let's go somewhere gay next month. Now shut up & kiss me.
Me - I love you so much.
You - I love you too.
