Straight actor plays a gay role. The in-depth discussion reveals strange realities.  (A) Theater & Hollywood are full of gay people. Yet somehow only straight people can be found for gay roles. James Sutton is to be commended for not expressing contempt at gay men. (B) Nostalgia for the bad times of the past. The narrative is that gay life has improved since 2007 when John Paul kissed Craig. That's a false narrative. The gay & lesbian community (LG) now includes straight people (BTQ+). So straights have taken over gay spaces & diluted their gayness. Gay bars have disappeared since European countries became Muslim. Gay life is more dangerous than ever. Your mom won't accept you as gay. If you die in the ghetto, it means nothing. If you die in uniform, it means something to someone somewhere. So you join the Marine Corps. Your fellow recruits discover you're gay when they see your ERECTION in the communal shower. You're beat up & ostracized. But you hang in there. Slowly other trainees start to defend you.  One of the drill sergeants takes up for you when the other instructors join the gay taunting & mistreatment. You misinterpret that as your drill sergeant is secretly gay. Maybe. In the final field exercise, you follow him into the shower. You make a pass. He didn't help you because you're gay.
